Jonny's Carrot Apple Ginger Juice
Jonny Morelli makes this juice when he wants something fresh and fast that wakes up the whole morning. Tart Granny Smith apples balance the sweet carrots, and the ginger adds a warm little kick.

Method
- 1
Scrub the carrots well and trim off the tops and tips. Peeling is optional.
- 2
Wash the apples, cut them into quarters and remove the cores. Cut the pieces small enough to fit your juicer's chute.
- 3
Slice the ginger into a few thin coins. Peel it first if the skin looks tough.
- 4
Run the ginger through the juicer first, then feed in the carrots and apples a little at a time, alternating between them.
- 5
Stir the juice well, pour it into 2 glasses and drink right away, over ice if you like.
Keep in a sealed jar in the fridge for up to 24 hours. Shake or stir before drinking, since it separates.
- No juicer? Blend everything with 1/2 cup of water, then strain through a nut milk bag or a clean thin towel.
- Add a bit more ginger if you want a stronger kick, or a squeeze of lemon for extra brightness.
