JC's Acid Neutralizing Green Juice

Savory with just the right level of sweetness. Love to start my day with a 32oz glass of this.

Method

  1. 1

Prepare the lemons: Peel them and put the rinds into the pulp collector. Cut each lemon in half lengthwise, quarter it again, then chop into smaller pieces so the juicer handles it easily.

  2. 2

Prepare the cucumber: Trim the ends, cut it in half lengthwise, then cut each half lengthwise again. Then chop into small pieces.

  3. 3

Prepare the parsley. Chop it finely, then mix it together with the cucumber and lemon pieces in a large pot/bowl.

  4. 4

Prepare the celery. Hold the stalks firmly, lay them down horizontally, and slice them very thin. Then chop the thin celery talks horizontally so you get small pieces. Add this to the large pot/bowl along with the other ingredients.

  5. 5

Prepare the ginger: Slice it into small thin pieces. Use less at first if you are new to ginger and build up from there. Add this to the large pot/bowl along with the other ingredients.

  6. 6

Prepare the apples: Remove the skin with a peeler (optional). Core the apple. Cut remaining apple into small pieces, it’s lighter on the juicer. Put apples in a separate bowl/pot.

  7. 7

Juicing your ingredients: Do 1-2 of the large bowl/pot with you green ingredients, then do 1-2 handfuls of fresh apples. This alternation of ingredients prevents the juicer from clogging.

  8. 8

Finish and store: Keep going until all the produce is used. Pour into jars if you are saving it, fill close to the brim, and refrigerate.

  9. 9

Serve fresh. It should taste savory from the parsley and celery, refreshing from the cucumber, lightly sweet from the apples and lemons, and gently warming from the ginger.

Storage

Fill jars close to the brim, seal and refrigerate. Best enjoyed within 2 days.
